Manjuyod White Sandbar located at Bais City, Negros Oriental, Philippines. Bais City is located on the east coast of Negros island, about 45 kilometers north of Dumaguete City, the capital city of Negros Oriental.
There are two bays in the area, hence the name “Bais.” The shore line is mostly mangroves, which are in danger of destruction due to the increasing population. The richness of marine life in the bays is because of these mangroves.
The best time to visit Manjuyod Sandbar is during the dry season – March to May, so you can witness its sparkling, turqoise water.
The government of Bais City operates ecotourism activities in the city, highlighted by whale and dolphin watching and nature treks.
How to Get to Manjuyod White Sandbar
From Manila: there are daily flights to Dumaguete.
From Dumaguete Airport, take a tricycle to Ceres Bus Terminal. Board a bus to Bais, Tell the conducted to drop off at Brgy. Calindagan, then ride a tricycle to Canibol Wharf or Capiñahan Wharf, the jumping off point for island hopping in Bais and Manjuyod. Rent a boat for island hopping, (boat is good for 5-7 persons). The Manjuyod boat rate is for whole day rental already that includes boat tour to Manjuyod Sandbar, Bais City Bird Sanctuary and the Mangrove Forest. Make sure to bring packed food and drinks as there are no restaurants on the islands.
If you wish to stay overnight, make sure to bring enough water, flashlights, first aid kits, etc.
Since cottages are limited in number, most tourists/groups are just eating at their rented pump boats.
From Dumaguete City: you may ride a jeepney at the Dumaguete – Bais terminal near the port and going to Lo-oc Road in Rizal Boulevard or the Ceres Bus Liner at the Ceres terminal in Barangay Calindagan. The best and most convenient way is to rent a car or van. You can ask your hotel about more information on the van rental services.
